Essex 20 Standards & Bath half

Postby Eric » Mon Mar 08, 2010 8:50 pm

Congratulations to Lyn for achieving a Gold Standard on Sunday with a time of 3.19 if any other members achieved standards could you please let me know as I have not seen any results as yet.

At Bath Dave (speedy) Green did a fantastic 1.11.15 to finish in the top 30, Anna and I did 1.55.02 which for Anna was a tremendous effort as despite being advised not to run due to a chest infection did the obvious thing that a woman normally does and ran anyway so as to make sure Anna wasn't the only one to run with a bit of pain I failed to miss one of the hundreds of cones that the organisers decided to plonk down in the middle of the course and recieved a mark of 8/10 for my dive onto the tarmac add to that the fact that my car is still in hospital in Bath all in all it was a good weekend.

I finished Bath with 2.31.11 which at least a little bit faster than I did on our course In February. I think it is a slower course so I am not too despondent; perhaps things are looking up at last. Oldest group was set for the merely 60+ so no chance there but over 850 people came in after me which is some comfort
